Considering Treatment for Hearing Loss South Sound Audiology Patients Tell You Why They Did

With cutting-edge hearing technology and a team of experts on hand to help, you can rest assured that all your hearing concerns will be listened to and treated.

Hearing loss can be a scary thing to face.

When you start noticing signs of hearing loss in yourself or someone you know, it’s hard to know where to turn for help.

If, like many of our patients, you’re feeling uncertain about treating your hearing loss, we’re here to tell you you’re not alone.

With so many Americans affected by hearing loss, it comes as a surprise to learn it can take almost seven years for those affected to reach out for help.

What Stops Us from Getting Help?

Over the years, we’ve found there are two substantial reasons people don’t seek professional advice sooner:

Financial Investment

When faced with any health concern, the cloud of investment soon looms over your head. However, when it comes to your hearing, good-quality and premium hearing solutions can change your quality of life dramatically.

There is a range of products available for you to choose from, whether you’re looking for a long-term solution to a new hearing concern, a short-term fix, or an upgrade to an existing device, South Sound Audiology will help you find what’s right for YOU.

Social Stigma

Admittedly, a lot of the concern around reaching out for help comes from outdated perceptions of what hearing aids look like and how they work.

Our hearing devices are cutting-edge technology. They are designed to sit almost undetectably behind your ear and can be color-matched to both your hair and skin tone.

We know that hearing loss can make you feel isolated, which is why we’ve asked some of our patients to tell you about their experiences with hearing loss and South Sound Audiology.

Let’s dive in.

Michael’s Story

Michael was left reeling when he developed sudden SNHL (sensorineural hearing loss). He went from hearing perfectly fine to being virtually deaf in one ear with impacted hearing in the other.

Scared and anxious about what this could mean for his future, Michael sought help quickly and was recommended South Sound Audiology by a friend.

Since visiting us here, Michael has been treated and fitted with hearing aids that work best for him, including a feature that minimizes the tinnitus he experiences.

Michael’s enthusiasm for seeking treatment is one to be admired, and his results make it hard to understand why anyone would delay receiving the care they need for their hearing concerns.

Recalling his experience with us fondly, Michael shares that

“all hearing-impaired people need is a knowledgeable person with a plan that can give you back a measure of hearing that makes your life better. It did for me!”

Judy’s Story

When Judy accepted that she needed professional help for her hearing concerns, she was worried about the implication that she was getting old and was reluctant to seek help.

When Judy decided to visit South Sound Audiology, everything changed.

Mentioning how “impressed” she was with the care she received from us, she also recalls how she was given all the information she needed to make her own decision on her treatment solution (with Julie’s expert opinion, of course!).

Since being fitted with her hearing aids, Judy’s hearing and quality of life have both improved, although she notes she doesn’t even notice when she has them on because they’re so comfortable!
